New cards and such

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the prolonged absence, life has gotten in the way of my crafting. I am here to say that I am taking a little time to share a card I made based off one of the My Favorite Things Sketches, number 63. I didn't get it done in time to post it to the Challenge, but I liked the sketch and I liked how my card turned out so I thought I would share.
I know, I know, I used this cutie in my last card share, but I love her so much I used her again. I only have two PI Girls right now, so until I am using them all the time. This time I coloured her with pencil crayons. I used some K and Company paper and some dollar store bling. I liked the way she turned out. I would really like to try different colouring methods, like OMS and Prismacolors.

I have expanded my stamp collection a bit (ok, a lot) over the last month or so.So I promise to used a different stamp next time (hee hee). I am still waiting to get some decent paper and card stock, there is a possible trip to Winnipeg this week, so I am hoping to get some, and possibly visit a Michael's. I have a couple more projects in the works, so I will hopefully have more to share this weekend.
Enjoy the rest of your Friday!

Card Share and a Bit of a Ramble

Happy Sunday! It is beautiful here in Dryden, Ontario today. It is actually in the 20's today (degrees Celsius), which is crazy for Northwestern Ontario in March.

Anyways, I thought I would share a card I made this week for my supervisor at work.

I got to use my new Pure Innocence "You're So Tweet" stamp. I paper pieced her dress and sleeves with some K&Company Sweet Nectar paper. Actually all the paper on this card is from that mat stack. I really like it. It is probably some of nicest paper you can get here, since Wal-Mart is the only place to buy supplies in a brick and mortar store. I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but I used the light pink paper with flowers on the inside and one of the other sentiments from the set that says "Happy Bird-day!" The rest of the image I coloured in with my watercolour pencils.

I am hoping soon to make a trip to the city, either Thunder Bay or Winnipeg, so I can get some Copics or Prismacolors and Odorless Mineral Spirits for colouring. I also need to get some heavier card stalk, as mine tends to bleed sometimes. I bought some Copics off a person on Splitcoaststampers, but just a few skin coloured ones. I am debating whether or not to buy some Bic Mark It pens to play with or just wait and buy some more Copics or pencils. I guess I will see when my markers arrive how I feel about it.

I am going to go enjoy the rest of the weekend, what little of it there is left. I am hoping to have a couple of more card shares this week, as I am creating some cards from a few of the member companies sketches on Splitcoaststampers.

Project Shares/ Entries for BAcraftygirl's Challenge

Hey everyone!

I just thought I would share a couple of things I have created lately. I was inspired to do so, so I could enter BAcraftygirl's challenge on YouTube. Here is the link to her channel so you can go check her out: http://www.youtube.com/user/BAcraftygirl

You had to use four stamps while creating your project. Repeats of stamps counted. So here is what I came up with.

Here is my first project which is a Post It holder:
Here is the link to the video I made about my Post It Holder (<-- click here)

Here is my second project which was a wipe board (white board? lol):

The link to my video about this project/entry can be found here.

And last but not least for my last entry I added some stamped embellishments to a photo my fur baby McGee. The link to the video about this project can be found here.

Thanks again for stopping by. Go visit BAcraftygirl's channel and check out all the contest entries and all her awesome projects. I am thinking about possibly doing more videos, but I need a regular camera, since my dog ate mine (well, killed it by chewing it). I would like to do a haul of all the stamps I have gotten off the Splitcoaststampers site and some more project shares. So hopefully that is what's to come!

Hello World!

I have been wanting to write a blog about my creative endeavors for awhile. I finally decided to just take the plunge and do it. I love to create things with my hands. I have had a few years of art training, a diploma in Graphic Design and Web Design. After life decisions, I ended up back in school to take Early Childhood Education. While I love being creative, I also love my job as an educator in a Toddler/Preschool mix room. Every day is different. I took art all 5 years of high school (because as those who live in Ontario likely remember, high school used to have an optional 5 year call OAC or grade 13). My mom is a talented folk artist, my sister creates beautiful hemp jewelery and my dad and brother are both talented wood workers, so I'd like to think my creativity comes naturally.

I recently have started making handmade flowers and children's headbands. I have also started paper crafting and stamping (which someone should have warned me that stamps can easily become an addiction). If you would like to see some of my headbands, please visit : Sweet E Pie, my Facebook page where I sell them. I haven't been as active with my crafting, but would like to become more consistent again.

I am going to be posting picture of my projects, how to's and the occasional giveaway, so I hope you will check in often! Positive feedback is always appreciated and I would love to follow your blog if you have one. I am looking forward to sharing with you!
