Well Hello There and a Happy Canada Day!

Well here I am again. My poor blog has been ignored and neglected. I have been busy. I have a lot of excuses, but I am not going to bore you with them, I am just going to show you all the cards I have been making. A couple of them are for Operation Write Home and one I think I may enter in a challenge. I am hoping to get more quality craft time in, but that is a never ending battle in my life.

Anyways, I have found an old camera, so I don't have to use my IPod to take pictures. I also downloaded Gimp, which I like so far, and have been using it to watermark my images. So here are my cards:
Here is the first card. For this I used:
  • Stamp- The Greeting Farm "Mermaid Anya"
  • Coloured with- Copic Markers
  • Paper- K & Company Scraps I had, Bazzil Textured Black cardstock
  • Inks- Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink Weatered Wood (Behind Image)
  • Embellishments- Yoyo (handmade by me), Rub on (unsure of were it's from), Flat back pearls (Dollarama), Paper Doily (Wilton)

Here is my second card. Here is what I used for this card:
  • Stamp- Kraftin' Kimmie "Goldilocks"
  • Coloured with- Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencil Crayons
  • Paper- K & Company, Bazzil Textured Brown cardstock
  • Inks- Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Embellishments- Fiskers paper punch boarder

Finally my third card. I made two of these for Operation Write Home. Here is what I used:
  • Stamp- My Favorite Things The a la mode "Miss You a Latte"
  • Coloured with- Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencil Crayons
  • Paper- K & Company Scraps I had, Bazzil Textured Brown cardstock
  • Inks- Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Embellishments- none
I am planning on making some more Operation Write Home cards this weekend. It is a long weekend here in Canada (yes!!!) and I have a little more time to craft. So hope all you Canadians enjoy your mini holiday. Happy Birthday Canada! And an early Happy 4th of July to all my American friends and family! <3

My First Tag

Hello everyone! I am back to share a tag I have made. I created this for a giveaway/challenge that Bethany, who is BAcraftygirl on YouTube, is having in honor of her new blog Ordinarily Crafty and having reached 500 subscribers on her YouTube channel

So anyways, I wanted to share with you my tag since it is the first tag I have ever made. I think it turned out cute.
The challenge was to make a tag or a card that used 2 stamps and 1 button. I decided to make the tag since I have not made one before (as I said above). I cut the tags on my Cricut. I used a mix of scraps that I tore into strips I had in black, white and pink. I stamped the girl from the Greeting Farm Sweet and Toxic set, I also used the sentiment "Sweet & Toxic" on the little tag, so those were my two stamps. I coloured her with my Copic Markers and paper pieced her dress. I the put her on foam tape and placed her on a paper doily that I had. I decided that I wanted to make some small yoyo flowers and that was how I would incorporate my button. I made a small black with a pink button and a small white lace with a gray button. I the used some lace and loopy ribbon that I have to finish it off. I am pretty please with the finished product.

I hope everyone is having a good week. I am definitely looking forward to the weekend!

Birthday Card Share

Hello everyone! I am back again with a card to share with you. I have been tired lately so I haven't been crafting as much as normal. I think I am lacking in motivation. I am working on the photo wallet still (I am not sure if I mentioned this before). When I am done I will share pictures, because I am proud of it so far.

So here is the card I made. I used the Greeting Farm stamp Fairy Anya. I bought it off someone on Splitcoaststampers. I also got two more Greeting Farm stamps from the same person, Mermaid Anya and the I Do set. I got great deals on them so I was excited. I also got some new to me Kraftin Kimmie stamps from Splitcoast as well that I am trying to come with a project for. Anyways, I coloured her with my few Copic markers, which is one reason she has pink hair. I also added Stickles to her wings because fairies need bling. I used a sentiment from another fairy set I have, which I think is a Pink Cat Studio set. Paper in the background is from Michaels and  the green paper was kindly given to me when I bought some stamps off someone on Splitcoast.  The flower is from the dollar bin at Michaels and the brad is Memory Makers. The card base is just one of the ones from WalMart that I have. My friend liked it so I was happy.

My interest lately has been piqued by making actual scrapbook pages. I have been watching some videos where people share what they have made and it has made me want to try it. I might get a kit on my next pay day and try it out. Does anyone have any scrapbooking idea websites they would like to share? I would appreciate it. I have also been longing for some of the Some Odd Girl stamps, but I haven't found any used yet. I think they are so cute! It's just a little out of my budget right now, shipping to Canada is a little expensive too. Oh well, hopefully someday soon.

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Looking forward to catching up with my Blogger friends! :)

...Hello? Is anyone still out there? (Sorry for being MIA... again)

Hello! Long time, no see, lol! Sorry for being gone again. My only excuse is life, again. My life has been hectic and blogging was the first thing to go. I got to make a few cards over the past couple of weekends, so that has been fun. I have also been trying my hand at making mini albums. So far I have just made like the "bones" of the album. I haven't really started decorating any of them yet. I am fascinated by them, not sure why. All the different ways you can decorate them and add tags and pockets, just seems fun.

Anyways here of some pictures of my cards.

Card #1
  • Stamp: Lili of the Valley "Messy Messages"
  • Coloured with: Prismacolors
  • Paper: DCWV "Stack 7", Staples Card Stock, Wal-Mart brand card base
  • Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Distress Ink in Spun Sugar
  • Embellishments: paper doily, flat back pearls

Card #2
  • Stamp: Greeting Farm "Down by the Pond"
  • Coloured with: Prismacolors
  • Paper: DCWV "Stack 7", Staples Card Stock, Wal-Mart card base
  • Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink in "Peeled Paint"
Some exciting news! I contacted the people at Operation Write Home and asked if I could get a stamp for the back of my cards, since I am in Canada the form only has US info on it. They are free if anyone would like to get one, just follow the links on the website. Anyways, the very nice people there said yes and offered to send me one. I got it in the mail last week, along with the beautiful card pictured below. I am excited to make some cards to help people out! I will post more as I do this.

Anyways, sorry again for being away so long. I hoping to get back into the groove of crafting and writing. It is a stress reliever for me, something that allows me to take my mind off my day. Your comments also brighten my day, so thank you to those who take the time to let me know that you stopped by!

Sorry for Being MIA and a Card

Hello again! I know I have been missing, well actually more like putting my blog aside for a bit. Life has been crazy- between work and training and the hubby and father-in-law not being well, my plate was a little too full. I had to focus on doing one thing at a time and crafting was put on hold. But everything is settling down a bit and I am able to release some stress through my creativity.

I recently went to a baby shower to welcome a new little bundle and was excited to test drive some new to me stamps.

I one of my Pink Cat Studio stamps that I got recently from one of my favorite ladies on Spliltcoaststampers, Vicki. You can check her out here and see all her stamps in search of a new home (lol). Anyways I used some of my new Recollections card stock, the brown polka dots for the background. I then paired it with pink K&Co small polka dot paper. I mounted all that on a card base from Wal-Mart. The sentiment is from an MFT A La Mode stamp set. I used my new boarder punch and my new flower punches. I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils. I was please with how it turned out and the recipient was really impressed, which made me feel good.

I don't have enough Copics yet to colour my images, but I am hoping to change that soon. I am also hoping to get a camera soon so I don't have to keep taking pictures with my Ipod. Hope everyone had a great weekend, and has a great week!

Some Recent Projects

I just wanted to stop in on this busy Easter Sunday to share some things I have recently made. I have had a couple of occasions that have needed cards, etc. I wanted to share the finished results.

Here are four tags I made for our Easter baskets:

Here is a little Easter card I made for our neighbor:

Both projects used my MFT Pure Innocence (I think it's called) Warm Fuzzies stamp set. I coloured all of them with my Prismacolor pencils. They used DCWV paper and some K&Co Paper. I am pretty happy with how they turned out!

This is a thank you card I made for our neighbor. I used some of my Pink Cat Studio Lily and Tweet stamps for this card. I just recently bought them off Splitcoaststampers. I was excited to break them out and take them for a spin! I used DCWV paper and a card base from Wal-Mart. The bling is from Dollarama. I coloured this imagine with my Prismacolors pencils again.

This is a birthday card I made for my father in law. I used my Billy Pink Cat Studio stamp set. I also got this set from Splitcoaststampers. The paper is from American Crafts. The card base is from Wal-Mart. I coloured him with my Prismacolor pencils.

So that is part of what I have been up to, ha ha. I am back to work on Monday, but I got some fun stuff to play with from a recent trip to Winnipeg (like my new ATG Gun!). I also have some stuff coming in the mail, so more toys to play with, ya! Have a great week!
